MRIGlobal Appoints Martin Nevshemal to CFO Position

MRIGlobal announces the appointment of Martin (Marty) Nevshemal as its new Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. As a member of the executive management team, Nevshemal will participate in the organization’s overall strategic business and financial planning.

“Marty’s impressive background meshes well with MRIGlobal’s interests,” said Thomas Sack, Ph.D., president and CEO, MRIGlobal. “He brings extensive experience in corporate and operations finance, cost control and efficiency in diverse industries. As a recognized military leader, Marty’s experience is a significant asset in MRIGlobal’s partnerships with national security and defense, as well as clients in the commercial and energy sectors.”

Most recently Nevshemal was CFO for Sporting Kansas City. Prior to that, he was the Business Unit CFO – Network and IT/Vice President for Sprint Corporation. Nevshemal holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Iowa and an MBA from the University of Iowa’s Tippee School of Management.

Before beginning his business career, Nevshemal served in the U.S. Marine Corps, achieving the rank of Captain as an intelligence officer and infantry commander. He has also published a book and a collection of articles on military history.

Active in the community, Nevshemal serves on the Board of the National World War I Museum and Memorial, an advisor to the Kansas City Veteran Coalition, a leadership speaker at the U.S. Army’s Management Staff College, and a member of the Advisory Board for the Kansas Consortium-Intelligence Community Center for Academic Excellence.

Nevshemal succeeds Tom Fleener, who assumes responsibility for leading MRIGlobal’s role in the Alliance for Sustainable Energy, LLC, which manages and operates the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado, for the U.S. Department of Energy. Fleener will also lead MRIGlobal’s Government Relations, engaging with federal agencies, Congress, and Washington, D.C.-based clients to promote MRIGlobal’s positions and programs.
