President, Wendy Mas Consulting
Wendy Masiello joined the MRIGlobal Board of Directors in 2023, bringing extensive experience in the government sector. She retired from the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant General in 2017, and is president of Wendy Mas Consulting, LLC.
Prior to her July 2017 retirement, Masiello was Director, Defense Contract Management Agency. At DCMA, she managed a $1.4 billion budget and 12,000 people around the world responsible for holding 20,000 contractors accountable in performing 340,000 Defense and NASA contracts worth $2 trillion.
General Masiello was Deputy Assistant Secretary (Contracting), Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition from 2011-2014. After a 30 percent personnel cut, she reorganized Air Force contracting into a virtual, world-wide contracting team supporting Air Force installations around the globe with a 24/7 workforce. The concept enabled deliberate strategic buying decisions and delivered $2 billion of savings in two years.
As Program Executive Officer for the Air Force’s $65 billion Service Acquisition portfolio from 2007-2011, Masiello created an acquisition process accelerating service acquisition through empowerment and delegation.
Her government sector experience included aircraft, satellites, launch support, missiles, munitions, science, and technology.
Masiello currently serves as an independent director for KBR Inc. (Public) (Compensation and Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Committees), EURPAC Services, Inc. (Compensation and IT Committees), StandardAero (The Carlyle Group) (Audit Committee), and Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation. Non-profit work includes Past-President and Director, National Contract Management Association (NCMA), Rawls Advisory Council for Texas Tech University’s College of Business, the Air Force Studies Board under the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM), and director on the national board for Rebuilding Together which provides safe, healthy, and free home repairs for people in need and communities needing revitalization.
General Masiello received her BBA in Marketing from Texas Tech University, an M.S. in Logistics Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology, and an M.S. in National Resource Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at National Defense University.
Her recognition includes 2023 Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business Distinguished Alum, 2017 Texas Tech Distinguished Alum, twice named to Executive Mosaic’s Washington 100, Greater Washington Government Contractor “Public Sector Partner of the Year,” and is an NCMA Fellow.
