David B. Dillon

Retired Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer,
The Kroger Co.

David B. Dillon joined the MRIGlobal Board of Directors in 2015. He is the retired Chairman and CEO of The Kroger Co., based in Cincinnati. The company employs over 400,000 associates who serve customers in more than 2,700 retail food stores under two dozen names. During his tenure as CEO, Kroger grew revenue by $45 billion, created 53,000 new jobs, reduced costs for eight consecutive years and returned $9.2 billion to shareholders through share repurchases and dividends, which were reinstated in 2006.

Dillon serves on several Boards, including 3M, the Union Pacific Corporation, and Hallmark. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Kansas Endowment, the University of Kansas Hospital Authority Board, the River Club, and Kansas Nature Conservancy. In addition, he previously served on the Board of Trustees for the Urban League of Greater Cincinnati, Board of Trustees for the University of Cincinnati Foundation, and the Board of Directors for Catalyst, Directv, and Convergys.

An Eagle Scout like his father and son, David received the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award in 2012 for distinguishing himself in his life’s work after eight years. He has been married to his wife Dee for 49 years, and they have three grown children and eight grandchildren.

Dillon earned a bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Kansas and a law degree at Southern Methodist University.
