Laura Wright

Wright joined the MRIGlobal Board of Directors in 2024, bringing expertise in financial accounting and reporting, corporate finance, and risk management. In addition, she currently serves on boards for CMS Energy and Consumers Energy, TE Connectivity, Spirit Aerospace Holdings, Joby Aviation, Forefront Living, and on the Board of Regents for the University of North Texas System.

In her most recent role with Southwest Airlines, the culmination of a 25-year career with the airline, Wright led a centralized finance organization of 500 professionals including financial/SEC reporting, accounting operations, financial governance, tax, treasury/corporate finance, payroll, investor relations, financial risk management, and financial planning functions. She also served as a member of the company’s Executive Planning Committee, executive officer group responsible for strategic and long-range planning, and the company’s Senior Management Committee.

During her time with Southwest Airlines, Wright was recognized as one of America’s Best CFOs by Institutional Investor Magazine in 2007, 2008, and 2009, as one of the Top 25 Women Finance Leaders by Treasury and Risk Magazine in 2009, as the Top Large Company CFO by D Magazine in 2011, was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Air Finance Journal in 2008, was inducted into the University of North Texas Business School Hall of Fame in 2015, and was named a University of North Texas Outstanding Alumni in 2018.

Wright earned her B.S. and M.S. in Accounting from the University of North Texas.
