MRIGlobal implemented training sessions for human and animal health professionals in many West African countries and in the former Soviet Union: 

• Biosafety & Security (BS&S) training at the Laboratoire National de l’Elevage et de Recherches Vétérinaires (LNERV)
• Intensive didactic workshops designed to engage potential biosafety officers in a range of key BS&S topics
• BS&S and molecular diagnostics training at the DTRA-funded mobile diagnostics laboratory (MDL) 
• BS&S training events for laboratory leadership and laboratory staff, as well as molecular diagnostics training at the MDL
• Developed BS&S training material for NBAF, BSL-3, and BSL-4 containment laboratories
• Support newly constructed laboratories in the start-up of their operations
• Conducts laboratory inspections and assists laboratories with preparing for CDC and USDA inspections

During the Ebola virus outbreak in Guinea and Sierra Leone during the late 2010s, our team fabricated, deployed, and staffed mobile laboratories to support field-forward diagnostic capabilities. Since then, this initiative inspired the development of the Athena Mobile Laboratory, which provides an enhanced mobile laboratory workspace capable of rapid worldwide deployment.
