MRIGlobal Energy Expert Discusses SolarTAC at World Renewable Energy Forum 2012
Dr. Stan Bull’s presentation will discuss the development of Solar Technology Acceleration Center.
(Kansas City, MO) May 4, 2012 – MRIGlobal announced today that Stanley R. Bull, Ph.D., Director of Energy Science and Technology, will present “Development of Solar Technology Acceleration Center (SolarTAC)” at the World Renewable Energy Forum 2012 in Denver.
Bull’s presentation is part of the “Advances in Renewable Energy Technology” beginning at 2:45 p.m. on May 14.
Operated by MRIGlobal, SolarTAC is one of the world’s largest solar test and evaluation centers. SolarTAC’s 80-acre site allows members to test, validate, and demonstrate near-market solar technologies. SolarTAC facilities include testing for photovoltaics and concentrating solar power technologies. The site, which also provides access to grid interconnections, is located near Denver International Airport in Aurora, Colo.
MRIGlobal, a recognized leader in renewable energy, has managed the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) since its inception in 1977. NREL is the leading laboratory in developing and deploying renewable technologies with international impact. Bull is also Director Emeritus of NREL.
Bull has more than 35 years of experience in energy and related applications, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, bioenergy, wind, photovoltaics, hybrid vehicles, hydrogen, geothermal, and basic energy research.
Bull holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University and a B.S. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Earlier this year, Bull was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Additionally, Bull was appointed to the Energy Solutions Industry Council, an initiative launched by Governor Jay Nixon to maximize economic growth opportunities.
The forum, with more than 200 sessions, will examine how renewable energy innovation is transforming commercial products and public policy to meet the world’s toughest economic, environmental and security challenges. For more information, visit www.wref2012.org.
About SolarTAC
Managed and operated by MRIGlobal, SolarTAC originated when public and private sector entities joined forces to establish a site where member companies can bring their advanced or near-commercial stage solar technologies for testing, research, and demonstration under actual field conditions.
SolarTAC members include: Xcel Energy, Abengoa Solar, SunEdison, Amonix, Alliance for Sustainable Energy (NREL), EPRI, and HITTITE Solar Energy.
