MRIGlobal Among Kansas City’s Healthiest Employers

MRIGlobal is one of five finalists; first-place winners to be announced Feb. 13.

(Kansas City, MO) February 6, 2011 – MRIGlobal has been named a finalist in the Kansas City Business Journal’s Healthiest Employers awards program.

MRIGlobal is one of five finalists in the category for 1000-3499 employees.

“We are honored to be a finalist in the healthiest employers award program, especially following on the heels of our Corporate Challenge award in 2011,” said Michael F. Helmstetter, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of MRIGlobal. “As we work to deliver global health solutions, we also encourage our employees to maintain optimum health for themselves and their families.”

For decades, MRIGlobal has maintained an on-site gym with an indoor basketball court, an array of fitness equipment, weights, and locker rooms. Outside, there are facilities for sand volleyball and touch football, plus a terraced amphitheater and access to great running/walking trails.

During lunch and before and after work, MRIGlobal provides many types of free fitness classes, including yoga, Pilates, and karate. The Karate Club has been in place for nearly 30 years.

MRIGlobal’s support of individual and team sports is most evident in the annual Corporate Challenge competition. MRIGlobal was the Division D winner in 2011.

The first-place winners in each category of the Healthiest Employer program will be announced at the awards luncheon on Monday, Feb. 13.
