Dr. Stan Bull’s Plenary Session Will Discuss Renewable Energy Opportunities for Industry, Agriculture
(Kansas City, MO) November 30, 2011 – MRIGlobal announced today that Stanley R. Bull, Ph.D., Director of Energy Science and Technology, will host the plenary session at the 5th Annual Midwest Energy Policy Conference on December 1, in St. Louis, Mo.
Titled “Renewable Energy in the Midwest: A Path Forward,” the session is co-hosted by James R. Fischer, Ph.D., P.E. The two will discuss renewable energy opportunities for industry, agriculture, and commercial and residential buildings.
MRIGlobal, a recognized leader in renewable energy, has managed the Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) since its inception in 1977. NREL is the leading laboratory in developing and deploying renewable technologies with international impact. Bull is also Director Emeritus of NREL.
Additionally, MRIGlobal operates SolarTAC, the Solar Technology Acceleration Center, one of the world’s largest solar test and evaluation centers. At MRIGlobal’s Center for Integrated Algal Research, scientists identify and optimize algal species for carbon management and biofuel production.
Bull has more than 35 years of experience in energy and related applications, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, bioenergy, wind, photovoltaics, hybrid vehicles, hydrogen, geothermal, and basic energy research. He holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from Stanford University and a B.S. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Earlier this year, Bull was named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
