MRIGlobal Engineer Honored for Innovation
Ingram’s Magazine Names MRIGlobal Associate Engineer Alex Waller Among “20 in their Twenties”
(Kansas City, MO) June 24, 2011 – MRIGlobal’s Alex Waller has been named among Ingram’s magazine’s annual “20 in their Twenties.” The Kansas City business magazine’s annual competition recognizes young professionals for entrepreneurial spirit and innovation in business.
As a project lead in MRIGlobal’s engineering design group, Waller champions innovations that have a global impact. Since joining the 67-year-old contract research organization in 2009, Waller’s career highlights include mechanical design work on a biological particle collector for the Department of Homeland Security and development of an air monitoring device that was utilized at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Currently Waller serves as program manager and principal investigator on a project to build a portable water purification system for use in developing nations.
He leads internal research funded by MRIGlobal that tracks eye gaze by using motion-capture cameras. The project has multiple applications including gaming and assisting the physically impaired.

Waller earned a B.S. from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a M.S. from the University of Kansas.
