 A Special Commitment to Small Businesses

MRIGlobal is committed to expanding business opportunities for small businesses, including small disadvantaged business entities.

Our Small Business Utilization Program encourages subcontracting relationships with small businesses (SB); small disadvantaged businesses (SDB), which includes historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) and minority enterprise institutions (MEI); woman-owned small businesses (WOSB); businesses operating in historically underutilized business zones (HUBZone); and veteran-owned small businesses, including those run by service-disabled veterans (SDVOSB).

MRIGlobal is committed to comply with its contractual and legal obligations and to actively assist small businesses and small disadvantaged businesses with opportunities to compete for procurement of goods and services. 

MRIGlobal supports small businesses and small disadvantaged businesses by: 

• Engaging in community outreach activities through membership in the Mid-America Minority Business Development Council, and by participating in the National Contract Management Association, and attending meetings of Small Business Liaison Officers.
  
  
• Exhibiting at annual small business procurement conferences and expositions, and attending conferences, workshops, and seminars to share information on products, services, and capabilities that MRIGlobal needs.
  
  
• Maintaining in-house databases of sources and source materials for potential SB, SDB, HUBZone, SDVOSB, and WOSB firms. MRIGlobal also maintains contact with technical/scientific personnel who are current or past subcontractor partners.
  
  
• Providing technical and administrative assistance, including evaluating and preparing proposals for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 8a Business Development Program’s set-aside solicitations. MRIGlobal also provides non-financial assistance in obtaining SBA Certification to SB/SDB firms that show significant potential as service providers to MRIGlobal.
  
  
• Ensuring requests for proposals are evaluated for subcontracting opportunities with SB, SDB, HUBZone, SDVOSB, and WOSB firms.
